FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

General

  • How long have you been in business?

Rose Cotter, the owner of Alfie’s, opened our doors in November 2006. Since then, in 2015, the business moved into our new location designed specifically to cater to our customer’s needs.

  • Are dogs the only animals you provide daycare and boarding service?

Yes, we only can take dogs for daycare and boarding service.

Daycare

  • How old does my dog have to be to go to Alfie’s Poochie Playlot?

Typically around four months old or when they get they completed their vaccinations (See Requirements).

  • Do I need a reservation when I bring my dog to daycare?

No, we have a walk-in without reservation that’s convenient for those last minute needs as long as they have completed their scheduled Temperament Evaluation and are current on vaccination/vet requirements.

  • When dogs eat, how are they fed?

Dogs are always independent unless the household has multiple dogs. In that case, we would need to know if they can eat together or if we should separate them.

  • What are the hours for daycare?

Monday – Saturday 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday by-appointment, then regular hours apply. We can accommodate late pick up until 9:00 p.m. and late fees apply, then the doors are locked for the day.

  • If I purchase a daycare package, can I use it toward boarding?

Boarding fees are separate from daycare fees. However, you may use your package to applicable daycare hours (after 11am on their final day of play).

Bonus for daycare pass holders: you get a discount of your boarding!

Boarding

  • What should I bring when my dog(s) board?

They would need food, medication and/or any supplements. Treats or bones can be brought when they have alone time. Bedding and crates are optional. We provide the bowls, toys, cots, and bedding if they are permitted to have soft bedding.

  • What are the hours for boarding?

Seven days a week between the hours of 6:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

  • Where does my dog sleep at night?

We have a multiple of options for their night’s rest, including: snuggled next to the overnight person or their private suite. We also utilize some of play areas to better accommodate multi-dog families. Since we are a cage-free establishment, crated dog owners must specify they want this option.

  • Do I need a reservation when I board?

Yes, we are set up to only allow a set amount of overnight visitors, so a reservation is required.
